The son of a Muslim Syrian father and a peasant mother from the Brazilian state of Bahia, Waly Salomão (1943-2003) was a multi-disciplinary artist. A law graduate, he became a poet by writing the verses of his first book in a prison cell. Salomão was a close friend of the Brazilian modernist artist Hélio Oiticica, and in the late 60's joined the Tropicália movement led by icon singers Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa and Maria Bethânia, for whom Salomão composed several songs which became instant hits in Brazil. Besides revealing some of the facets of this kaleidoscope artist, this documentary pieces together extensive unseen footage of Salomão, whose works sought to blur the boundary between fiction and reality,
